Description

A red-brick Army Reserve Centre, makes this location suitable for a variety of activities. It is a perfect site if you want to use the centre for a film location, a base for enjoying the city and its environs or as a venue for a variety of events such as conferences, seminars, meetings or use as an occasional office away from home.

Millbay originated as a natural inlet, lying to the south of a large area of marshland recorded in early documents as the ‘Sourpool’. The earliest documentary sources record the erection of a mill at the neck between the Sourpool and the inlet in the 12th century which is the origin of the name Millbay.

Millbay Park at the junction of West Hoe Road and Citadel Road, Plymouth, was formerly the site of the Millbay Military Barracks, where large numbers of French, Spanish and Russian prisoners of war were housed during the eighteenth and nineteenth centuries. Millbay Army Reserve Centre is in a commanding location close to Plymouth city centre.

The Army Reserve Centre has a large hall, a lecture room and a classroom and two bars. This Devon venue benefits from on-site, secure parking for up to 50 cars.
