This room can accommodate 18 people in a convivial and informal setting. The room (7.1m x 5.5m) has views to the rear and has patio doors which lead out onto the grass activity area, and is ideal for barbeques or al fresco dining.

A functional room (7m x 5.6m) which can seat up to 40 cadets at one sitting.

A fully fitted kitchen (6.7m x 6.4m) with 2 x 6 ring burners, deep fat fryer, grill and ovens, hotplate, 2 fridges, 2 freezers and a dishwasher. Serving Hatch.

Classroom 1 (7.2m x 5.3m) 18 desks. Widescreen TV.

Description

Once part of Wyvern Barracks, Pellew House was built in 1959 and was then the Officers’ Mess. It is now the home of Devon Army Cadet Force and acts as their County Cadet Centre. It is a sad looking building with no architectural merit, although inside it is functional and comfortable, able to provide overnight accommodation for 20 female adults and cadets and 50 male adults and cadets.

It is an ideal location to use as a base to explore Dartmoor, Exmoor or the south coast, conduct youth activities, seminars, meetings, conferences, and private functions. There are two classrooms, a dining room and well equipped kitchen, as well as an adult Mess/Bar.

Pellew House is adjacent to the Royal Devon and Exeter Hospital. Exeter City Centre is a 10 minute walk away. Exeter St Davids railway station is 1.3 miles distant, and there is good access to the M5 and A303. Exeter Airport is some 5 miles to the east.

This venue benefits from on-site, secure parking for up to 20 cars.
